Request a Quotation
for a Tape-To-Tape Copy:

Our Tape-to-Tape Copy Service will make an exact copy of the data on your source tape.
It does not convert the contents of the tape. You will get back an exact copy of your original tape, on different media.
If you need to convert the contents of the tape for use in a different computer, please use our Data Conversion Quote form.
If you are not sure what kind of tape you have, please see Identifying Media

Please read our note about the Massachusetts Data Security Law before completing this form.

Please fill out this form and we will get back to you with a quote.
The more information you can provide, the more accurately we can quote.
Thank you for the opportunity to assist you with your conversion.

Notes:

  1. This is a one-for-one copy, so the data on the source tape must fit on the destination.  If the tape you are copying to has a smaller capacity than the tape you are copying from, make sure the actual MB of data will fit on the new tape.
  2. In most cases, when doing an image transfer of a tape, we don't need to know the file structure on the tape or the file or block counts, as we are simply copying it byte-for-byte to another tape. But when you can provide it, it's useful for verifying that the tape is as expected.
  3. We do need to know what density to write the new tape in, if there are choices for that type of tape.
  4. Please read about the Massachusetts Data Security Law before completing this form.

The Massachusetts Data Security Law prohibits sending any "Personal Information" on a Massachusetts resident via common carrier (e.g. UPS, FedEx, or U.S. Mail) unless it is encrypted, or is contained on an "exempt" tape.   Mainframe, AS/400, and VMS tapes are exempt. Windows, UNIX, Macintosh, Novell, and most other tapes are not exempt.   There is more information in our article on the new Massachusetts Data Security Law. If your data contains any Personal Information on Massachusetts residents, please read it before using our service.
